Best Reading Order

Start with The Eye of the World and read the main novels in order. New Spring was published partway through the series but is set before it; most readers save it for later, after book 10 or once they finish, since it is richer when you already know the characters.

The middle of the series is famously slow in places (books 8 to 10 are the usual complaint), and many readers say the final three books are worth pushing through for.
