Jim's Review
🐛
A thriller about stealing a manuscript, narrated by the thief, who is so convinced she is the victim that the book is funny and cringe-inducing on the same page. Kuang skewers the publishing industry, online pile-ons and the question of who gets to tell which stories, and she spares nobody, including the people on the 'right' side. June is exhausting company by design, which is the point and occasionally the problem. Four worms — the sharpest satire of the book world in years.
