Jim's Review
This is the foundational self-made-success book that influenced every one that came after it. Hill interviewed 500+ wealthy industrialists in the early 1900s and extracted thirteen principles, of which "burning desire" and "mastermind" still get quoted today. Some of the metaphysics is dated, but the chapters on persistence and definite-major-purpose still hit. Read it as a historical document and a pep talk, not as a literal manual. Three worms — Jim wouldn't lead with this one in 2026, but if you're going to read one "old-school" wealth book, read this one before Rich Dad Poor Dad. The advice has aged better.
