A Boy Scout troop on an isolated island encounters a stranger infected with a bioengineered parasite. As the organism spreads, the boys' civilized veneer crumbles and survival instincts take over. A visceral, Lord-of-the-Flies-meets- body-horror nightmare.

Jim's Review
🐛
Jim needs to be honest: this book is GROSS. Like, genuinely stomach-turning body horror that had this worm reconsidering his entire relationship with parasites. Cutter combines the social dynamics of Lord of the Flies with the biological horror of The Thing, and the result is deeply uncomfortable reading. Not for the squeamish — and Jim says that as a creature who literally lives in dirt. You've been warned.
