Jim's Review
Written in 1926, this little book is the original "pay yourself first" manifesto, dressed up as a series of Babylonian parables. The rules are ancient and embarrassingly simple: save 10% of everything you earn, invest it wisely, live below your means, and let compound interest do the heavy lifting. They're embarrassingly simple because they work. Jim has watched friends with finance MBAs ignore this book and stay broke. The parable format makes the rules stick — "Arkad's Seven Cures for a Lean Purse" reads like fortune-cookie wisdom but actually changes behavior. Four worms. Buy a copy for every teenager you know.
