The Obesity Code
by Jason Fung
4/5
Greystone Books 328 pages March 3, 2016
Nephrologist Dr. Jason Fung challenges the calories-in-calories-out model of obesity, arguing that insulin resistance is the real driver of weight gain. He presents a compelling case for intermittent fasting and dietary changes as more effective approaches than simple calorie restriction.

Jim's Review
🐛
Jim doesn't worry about his waistline (worms are all waist), but Dr. Fung's takedown of conventional diet wisdom is riveting. The insulin hypothesis is laid out clearly and backed by solid research, even if it ruffles some feathers in the nutrition world. Jim found the fasting sections particularly interesting — turns out skipping meals might be more than just laziness. Four worms.
