Paulo Coelho's enchanting novel follows Santiago, an Andalusian shepherd boy who yearns to travel in search of a worldly treasure. His quest will lead him to riches far different — and far more satisfying — than he ever imagined. A story about the essential wisdom of listening to our hearts and following our dreams.

Some books are short but infinite. The Alchemist is one of those. Jim first read it in a single afternoon and has thought about it every week since. Coelho writes with the simplicity of a fable but the depth of a philosopher. "When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it." Even worms have Personal Legends. Four worms — magical and timeless.
