4/5
Addison-Wesley Professional 336 pages August 2, 1995
Frederick Brooks draws on his experience managing the IBM System/360 project to deliver timeless insights about software project management. His central argument — that adding manpower to a late software project makes it later — remains as relevant today as in 1975.

Jim's Review
🐛
"Adding more worms to a tunnel doesn't make it get dug faster." Brooks said it about programmers, but Jim's been living this truth underground for years. Written in 1975 and still painfully accurate — that's either impressive or deeply depressing about our industry. The "No Silver Bullet" essay alone is worth the price. Four worms for this foundational text that every developer and manager should burrow through at least once.
