On the eve of Armageddon, seven pilgrims set forth on a final voyage to the Time Tombs on the world of Hyperion, each carrying a desperate hope — and a terrible secret. Their stories weave together in a Canterbury Tales-style narrative that spans space, time, and human experience.

Jim's Review
🐛
Jim is going to say something controversial: Hyperion might be the greatest sci-fi novel ever written. There, he said it. Each pilgrim's tale is a different subgenre of sci-fi executed at the highest possible level. The Scholar's Tale made Jim cry actual worm tears. The Shrike is the most terrifying creature in all of fiction. Simmons burrowed deep into the human condition and struck gold. Five worms — an absolute masterpiece.
