Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was raised to become a scribe, but her mother, the commanding general, orders her into Basgiath War College to train as a dragon rider. Jim's Review
🐛
Dragons that pick their riders, a war college where washing out means dying, and a rivalry that turns into something much hotter. Yarros knows exactly what her audience wants and delivers it at full speed. The world-building is thin in places and some twists are telegraphed, but the pacing barely lets up, and the dragons have more personality than half the cadets. Content note: explicit sex scenes and plenty of violence. Four worms — pure romantasy rocket fuel.
