The prose in this book is so beautiful that Jim wanted to eat the pages. Doerr writes in these short, crystalline chapters that Jim burrowed through like tunnels — each one a tiny, perfect world. Marie-Laure and Werner's stories converge with such devastating precision that Jim's worm heart shattered into a million pieces. It's a war novel that's really about light, radio waves, and the invisible threads connecting us all. Pulitzer-worthy in every sense.
